Why Data Hosting?
When integrating geospatial data into GIS, smaller organizations and municipalities may experience issues when it comes to data storage and access. With limited budget allocation and little to no IT departments, any geospatial data collected, converted and integrated cannot be stored or accessed in any efficient way. What results is missing data and/or data being stored on different types external storage devices. These devices are usually not a succinct choice when storing such large amounts of data. Further, storage devices are also extremely difficult to coordinate when they need to be accessed by specific people and teams.
GDIC solves this storage burden by providing flexible and cost-effective geospatial data hosting through its online partnerships. By hosting data on a cloud based network, all geospatial data remains intact, organized and accessible to all users at anytime. Geospatial cloud data can be accessed by a number of devices, with field teams being able to map, manage and look-up geographic data on the fly.
